The story of this form
A cremation urn worked with a series of asymmetrical ridges that rise from a broad base and cascade upward toward an unbroken curved lid, meeting in a rhythm the eye reads as water. On the front-facing side, the wave ridges part cleanly to frame a smooth vertical oval, the intended field for the tribute. Made from engineered ceramic with a stone-white matte finish, the vessel carries the weight and coolness of stone. Personalize the oval with raised lettering, names and dates sculpted directly from the surface for a permanent, integrated tribute. A sculptural memorial where quiet form and gentle motion meet.
The material
A composite: real ceramic particles held in a resin binder. The ceramic is what you feel, the weight and the coolness of stone. The binder holds it in one continuous form and makes it less brittle than fired pottery.
There is no glaze on it. The stone-white color and the velvet-matte surface are the material itself, running all the way through, so there is no coating to chip away.
