The story of this form
A cremation urn built as a solid rectilinear block with tight, sharp edges and a plain untextured face. Made from engineered ceramic, the vessel carries the substantial weight and cool touch of stone beneath a stone-white matte finish, its planar surfaces catching light without ornament. Personalize the front face with debossed lettering, names and dates set into the surface for a permanent, integrated tribute. A modern memorial designed to sit with quiet architectural presence in the home.
The material
A composite: real ceramic particles held in a resin binder. The ceramic is what you feel, the weight and the coolness of stone. The binder holds it in one continuous form and makes it less brittle than fired pottery.
There is no glaze on it. The stone-white color and the velvet-matte surface are the material itself, running all the way through, so there is no coating to chip away.

Questions
A composite: real ceramic particles held in a resin binder. The ceramic gives the piece its weight and its cool, stone-like touch. The binder makes it less brittle than fired pottery, so it tolerates being picked up and moved between homes.
Yes. There is no glaze to craze or chip, and no fired clay body to crack along a hairline. The color runs all the way through, so a scuff does not expose a different color underneath. It is not indestructible, and it is worth handling with care.
